Along with uppers made from suede and organic cotton twill, the Twill Old Skool VR3 utilizes a biobased foam VR3Cush™ footbed for comfort you can feel good about and the new VR3Waffle™ outsole that uses natural rubber while still maintaining the grip and durability that Vans has been known for since ’66.

• OUTSOLE: The VR3Waffle™ outsole is made with a proprietary compound containing at least 25% responsibly sourced natural rubber obtained from sources that follow proven sustainable practices with the intention of reducing impacts on the planet. This new natural rubber compound was developed and engineered to maintain the grip and durability Vans is known for (since 66).

This includes a molded VR3Cush™ midsole, a lightweight construction, a VR3Waffle™ rubber outsole, and a breathable upper designed to reduce waste in production compared to Vans’ traditional cut and sew uppers. The UltraRange VR3 is the manifestation of an idea: that it is not where we are going, but how we get there. Our team has set ambitious sustainability goals.
